Dayglo was in a dilemma. Dayglo hunted around the bottom of the wardrobe and wondered if the winklepickers were appropriate but didn't have the right trousers to go with them. What was the point anyway? The only worthwhile point was soon evident with the Dellburgoes first symbiotic explosive pluck of the first note of Last Twist that here, at last, was a genuine love of genuine rock and roll.

The power plucked geetars indelibly stamped Dayglo's groove lines with an ethos of glam garage surfs-up rock. Rex, Phil, Dave, Johnny and Leighton are not a bunch of blokes trying to imitate their favourite musical heroes - they are musical heroes and deservedly so... Last Twist is re-fuelling the bodies and burning the ears of a respectable chunk of the overseas population, proving yet again that art triumps over commerce.

Dayglo's Theory Du Jour : Intelligence = Maximum Impact. Each set began and ended on the top shelf with no meditative moments in sight. Each set was well planned and still retained all the fun and spontaneity without being bogged down with heavy lyrics. This is the vibrant and crafty side of musical life. Any roughness is purely intentional. There was also a hint of a tongue in cheek and an over the top performance that never failed to grab onto the frenzied moments that were allotted to the mere mortals gathered together for a rip snortin' good time.

This aint no ghost of rock and roll past. It's straight forward stuff with multiple hooks and a big full monty assaultive sound. Dellburgoe-mania is breathing turbo-charged life back into a music scene that is in danger of becoming lacklustre and without substance.

Pure rock and roll has not left the building. Phew, Dayglo can rest now.
